How to create a sub-location on Rapid GO

Background:

If you're using the Rapid Terminal app on iPad or Android devices, we recommend creating sub-locations. This makes managing multiple devices easier, as you can assign each one a clear name. Sub-locations also allow you to activate multiple devices for different areas onsite.

Creating a sub-location:

  1. Go to Rapid Access > Site Info.
  2. Select your site.
  3. Press 'Activate':


  4. Go to the 'Rapid GO' tab.
  5. To the right of the 'Location' option, press 'New':
    TIP: Take note of the configuration selected under Configuration when the Default location is selected. This will be used again shortly.


  6. In the popup, enter a name for the 'Location' based on where the iPad is located onsite (e.g. Reception #1, Reception #2, Security) to help distinguish between devices.
  7. Under 'Configuration', choose the same configuration that was used for the 'Default' location (see TIP above).
  8. Press 'Save':


  9. Select the newly created location from the 'Location' dropdown:


  10. Turn on the 'Enable Rapid GO for this location' setting.
  11. Press 'Update':
