Follow this guide when you have just unboxed your iPad and are completing the initial setup of the device.
Prerequisite: Before beginning, please ensure you have an active Apple Account. If you do not have one, you will be unable to complete the iPad setup. You can follow Apple's guide to create a new Apple Account before continuing.
Please ensure you have the iPad plugged into a charger so the device does not turn off during this process.
Registering the iPad:
Power the device on by holding down the power button.
Swipe up on the Hello screen:
Select your language:
Select the region you are located in:
Select your preferred appearance for the iPad (Light or Dark mode).
Note: This can be changed later in Settings.
Within the Quickly Set Up iPad section, choose Set Up Without Another Device.
Select the Wi-Fi network you would like to connect to.
Enter the Wi-Fi password and press Connect:
Note: Please reach out to your internal IT team for network access.
Press Continue on the Data & Privacy page:
Select Adult on the Age Range section.
Within the Touch ID / Face ID section, select Set Up Later in Settings.
Create an iPad passcode.
Note: This passcode will be used to unlock the iPad screen. Please record it securely for future reference.
Confirm the passcode by entering it again on the next screen.
Skip Optional Features: Over the next few screens, Apple will prompt you to set up additional features. To keep this process quick, select Set Up Later or Don't Use for the following screens if they appear:
- Apple Pay
- Siri
- Screen Time
Within the Apple Account section, enter your Apple Account email.
Enter your password and press Continue:
Press Agree to the Terms & Conditions.
Press Get Started to complete the initial iPad registration:
