How to create, edit and delete sub-categories

Sub Categories work with Categories to allow you group types of audits, tasks and items. Sub Categories can be useful when searching for audits, tasks, actions and items (assets) via the search filters, and extracting reports.

To set up, edit and manage sub-categories, please follow the instructions outlined below.

Create, edit and delete Sub Categories

  1. Select the “Settings” tab to navigate to the Settings section.

  2. Click on the “Category” tab.

  3. To create a Sub Category

    • Click on the "Add New Sub Category” button, relevant to the category you wish to add it to.

    • Add the “Sub Category Name”, and click “Update” to save.

  4. To edit a Sub Category:

    • Click on the "Pencil icon” next to the sub Category name.

    • Edit the “Sub Category Name”, and click “Update” to save.

  5. To delete a Sub Category, care should be taken as any audits or items (assets) allocated to that sub category will default to “General”, and any audits, actions or tasks will lose the sub category details. Steps to delete a sub category are as follows:

    • Click on the "Delete” button.

    • A message will appear:

      • Are you sure you want to delete this sub category?

All assets with this sub category will set to "General".

    • Select “OK” to delete the sub category.
