How to set up a Brother QL-700 printer 

Before you start: 

  • Ensure the computer and printer are powered on.

  • Ensure the computer is connected to a network.

  • Ensure you have a keyboard connected to the device. Alternatively, if you are using a Surface Pro, ensure the device is out of its case.

  • Ensure you have a USB Type A to Type B cable to connect the printer to your computer

  • Ensure the Editor Lite on the printer is off:

  • Ensure you have the password for the computer’s “Admin” account.
    Please note: If you do not have the Admin password, reach out to our support line on 1800 307 595.

Signing in to the Admin account:

  1. On the keyboard, press CTRL + ALT + DEL.
    Alternatively, on a Surface Pro, press and release the Power and Volume down buttons:

  2. A blue or black screen will appear. Select the “Switch User” option:

  3. Choose the “Admin” account.

  4. Enter the password and press “Enter”:
     

Setting up a Brother QL-700 printer:

  1. On your keyboard, press the Windows button. Alternatively, select the Windows icon from the taskbar.

  2. Search “Control Panel” and open the application:

  3. Under the “Hardware and Sound” section, select the “View devices and printers” option:

  4. Select the top option “Devices and Printers”:

  5. Scroll down to the “Printers” section. Your printer should appear in this section under “Brother QL-700”:
    Please note: If your printer does not appear, try unplugging the chord connected to the computer from the printer and plugging it back in.

  6. Go to the official Brother QL-700 Downloads & Drivers website.

  7. Follow the steps on the webpage to identify your OS System:

  8. Please download the following:

    • Printer Driver - Located under the “Drivers” section:

    • P-touch Editor5.x - Located under the “Editor Tool” section:

  9. Once downloaded, open the Printer Driver. Follow the steps to install the driver using the wizard:

  10. Following the installation, open the P-touch Editor5.x to install this driver:
